Goals and Objectives

It is important to know where you are going. According to Yogi Berra,

We are going to install and configure an Oracle database, Oracle Enterprise Manager, Oracle WebLogic, and an Oracle application that runs on WebLogic. We are going to go through the steps required to install everything, look at the complexity and alternatives for doing the installation, and pricing of all the choices. This is going to be a how-to view of everything along with a why discussion.
It is important to note that almost everything from Oracle can be downloaded and installed without keys or without paying for anything. You have the right to run and play with everything for 30 days. Since I am an Oracle employee we will also look at some of the demo systems that exist in the Oracle internal and partner network. My primary responsibility as an Oracle employee is facilitating partners in selling Oracle hardware and software. This blog is intended to be a documentation of the journey to go from knowing nothing about Oracle to being able to demo public and private cloud hosted services.
